wiring obd2 harness to obd1 distributor
anyone know how or of a site that will tell me how to wire an OBD2 wire harness to an OBD1 Distributor. Or could i just re-pin the connector on the OBD2 harness since it will fit the connector on the OBD1 distributor?
The OBD2 wiring harness only has one connector for the distributor where as the OBD1 distributor has 2 connectors coming from it.
Here is the connector from the OBD2 Harness (this harness came off of my D16Y8) There are 8 wires pinned into this connector and the colors of them are:
Red, White, Black, Yellow, Green, YLW/GRN, BLK/YLW, Blue
Here is the Connector on the OBD1 distributor, There are 7 wires coming out of this connector and the colors are:
YLW/GRN, BLU/YLW, BLU/WHT, White, BLU/GRN, ORNG/BLU, Orange
Here is the second connector coming from the OBD1 Distributor, it doesnt fit anything on the wiring harness. There are 2 wires in it and here are the colors:
BLK/YLW, Blue
oh and if it helps any... The Motor is a OBD1 JDM B16A , the OBD2 wiring harness is off of my D16Y8.
Thanks in advance for help

From OBD2B egine harness to OBD1 distributor
white -> blue yellow
blue -> light blue
red -> white/blue
green -> orange blue
black -> white
yellow -> orange
yellow/green -> yellow/green
black/yellow -> black/yellow
Note, there will be a single blue wire coming from the OBD1 distributor that will be left over, this is the tach signal wire. OBD2B doesn't have this wire.
