Wiring IAT sensor issue
Well I try and try to search but this damn maintenence is killing me.
Issue starts out as follows. Car starts but shutters, as soon as I open throttle it starts to stall but picks up RPMs and will rev. I've tried 3 dist. and am on my second wire harness. Oh and BTW the car is a 92 cx with a SOHC ZC swap. I picked up a vtec (I'm guessing ex/si) harness so I could wire up everything I needed. First thing I noticed was one of the connectors was messed with, it must have originally had a 4-pin connector but was wire into a 2-pin. I figure I'll mess with it as soon as I wire it up and figure out what sensor it is for. Turns out it is for the IAT sensor. As soon as I start the car the issue starts, I had plugged in the IAT sensor but I'm throwing a code for it.
What I need to know is if other cars maybe came with a 4-wire IAT instead of 2 and if so how do I go about wiring up this one. I mean I'm sure I could wire striaght to the ECU but if I was to do this through the harness how could I go about it. Wire colors would be helpful, as soon as I get home form work I'll post up a picture of what I have.
Also would unplugging a IAT sensor cause all of this, it seems a little bit overboard for a bad/unplugged sensor. I can't even drive the car as it sits now, been about 2 weeks trying to get the rest of the issues with it dealt with. All help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
