Wiring Guros come come help. Help undo a ricer action
ok so wen i bought my eg the previous owner had begun to rice the car out. one piece egay headlights subwoofer out the ***. just a fail of ****. all visual **** i finish longtime ago. now that i finish a new swap i wanna attack the wiring the hardest part. this ricer ruin my wiring wired 20million wires to the hid and hard wired it to the igntion and i have no clue where to begin.
first. "the double starter wire"
im guessing he couldnt find the wire or sumthing but my car now has to start wires one straight wired from the igntion im quessing and the one from the orginal wiring harness
wire on left ricer doing wire on right orginal wire from harness. how do i safely remove the wire on the left. will it cuase any problem if i dnt run the wire he put.
second "ruining eg6 center"
he took the eg6 center console threw away the oem eg6 parts and made this.
its a plastic piece that glow civic Si.
JDM LED FTL
how do i rewire the battery meter? what do i have to gutt all that **** properly

Sounds like all you have to do is trace the added wires back to where they are spliced in and remove them from there. The voltmeter looks like it was working already.
Also, you bought the car so you should have known what you were getting into. I wouldn't have touched that car in that condition.

Well what I'm saying is that all you should have to do is restore the wiring to the original state. Remove all the spliced in wiring added by the previous owner. The car I current have had a lot of crappy wiring done and that's all I had to do to repair it. Do you have an electrical manual?
And a voltmeter has got to be one of the simplest gauges to hook up. Power and ground. Don't know why you would need to wire it into the distributor. He must have thought is was a tach.

So how good are you with wiring? I'm really good and even I might replace it at this point. If not you better have a DVOMM, soldering skills and heat shrink. An EWD would make things a little easier. You might want to remove it anyways to make it easier to work on. Although that would be a big job on its own.

Sorry to say you have a mess in your hands lots of hours into that... if you where in CT that would be no problem for me take care of it all in a day.....

I've spotted a wide band O2 sensor. Stop yanking wires unless you really know what they go to.
That wide band display (round thing in dash under video screen) is most likely driven by a Bosch O2 sensor and a LC-1. Do not remove that or any wires connecting to it. There is a chance that wideband and LC-1 are needed to assist the ECU with control of the engine. It really just depends on how it was installed.
The LC-1 unit and Bosch wideband O2 sensor look like this:
The LC-1 unit sends power to the O2 sensor heater element. It also reads the air/fuel mixture sent from the O2 sensor and converts it from a 5 volt signal, to a 2 volt signal for input into the ECU.
Some people will use the LC-1 wideband stuff to replace the factory O2 sensor because the LC-1 is more accurate. It also can allow voltage adjustments, which in turn force the ECU to adjust the air/fuel ratio, but that is another story.
Welp, that is enough for you to take in for now.

...get the manual. Figure out what is what, and start removing stuff that is a safer bet to remove just to clear some stuff out of the way. Don't take anything out until you're 100 percent sure you know what it is. Like start with all the wiring associated with audio that is no longer used, if that isn't already done...work to all things involving door locks and trunk relays and whatnot, I think I've spotted some hookups for different alarm sensors, you can find the sensors and remove those, and then once you clear up some more figure out what to do with the ignition wires.
Big tip...unplug your battery for your own safety and for your cars. I imagine if you touch all that wiring with a string enough movement and your battery is hooked up it will blow literally every fuse in your car.
Lastly, save all the stuff from the alarm...sometimes you can get a couple of bucks for certain sensors and relays and whatnot, or if you decide you might get an alarm professionally installed later it will save you some money on the extras.
Good luck.

Re: Wiring Guros come come help. Help undo a ricer action
yea those wires dont have not even a lill tiny bit of engery in them. battery been out of the car since october wen the old motor got rod knock. so far everything if took out has been audio wise. ive trace everything to orginal before snip snip.
as for o2 sensor its not an aftermarker bosh or anything like that. i know what stock o2 sensor look like and mine is stock i think ima check tomorow. lolol
as for the alarm i wanna gut it out but then i gonna lose my remote that locks the car etc... so ima hold off on that till i get a new viper full set up

holy ****!
i can't stop looking at the under dash pic. Every time I look I see something else wrong.
How many relays and ****ing fuses are there??
A few problems i can think of.
Total hack job=fire hazard.
Not knowing what wire goes where=burning something up,unhooking something you don't wan to unhook.
I am not scared by wiring, and I even I would be worried going into that.
1 by 1 unhook something, find the matching wire if there is one. IE the ignition wire.
Trace everything back to it's home before removing.
If this were me, I'd replace the harness. OR, to make it easier to repair that, pull the dash, OR pull the harness from the car.
That is going to take time to fix, and likely won't be easy.
What alarm is in it? What options does it have? That could explain why there are so many relays.
Also, I can see wires coming from all over.
Please tell me you go one hell of a deal for this thing?
I would be looking for the kid, to slap him a couple times after seeing this.

Yeah i'd have to just get a whole new harness i wouldn't even want to deal with that. This guy was trying to cause a fire

When it comes to wiring, I always solder and double heat shrink wrap. Sometimes triple wrap.
I worked on a Civic that was almost that bad. Fixed a lot of wires. Ignition wires were cut and patched several times with different pinch connectors and it was a disaster. I found burn marks on wires and stuff. If you do any repairs to the wire, always use solder and heat shrink.

^He's right.
I always solder, wrap that in electrical tape, than heat shrink over that.
Looks a lot better that way.
With me I am really ****, and don't like when the connections look big, and "bulky". If that makes sence. lol. I like nice smooth connections, looks way better.

Good. It is better to make something durable so you don't have to worry about it ever. I like MIL (Military Spec) durable stuff. Usually, when I buy hardware, o-rings, heat shrink, etc, it will be MIL. It's like 5-15% more cost, but I won't have to replace it.
McMaster.com has some MIL quality stuff and they deliver to my door free.
