Windshield Wiper Lever Broken on EK
My g/f has a 97 Civic and her windshield wiper lever doesn't lock into place anymore. Whenever she goes over a bump or dip, it just falls down and the windshield wipers turn on. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it? Do i need to buy another lever assembly? Thanks.

It's either a spring or a combination of a spring and a broken piece of plastic. Depending on where you get it, expect to pay around 100 give or take 30 bucks. Pop off the column cover, connect the airbag short plug (so you don't accidentally set off the airbag) and unscrew the entire assembly and slide out. Chilton's has the diagram. Go to a bookstore and study it.

I had that happen to my 96. The best thing to do is get a piece of foam or something that has some flex to it and shove it under the stalk. That way you can still push down on the stalk when needed.
