Re: (Type-Ek)
Aren't ek's notorious for window problems? My friends 96 always had the window come off the tracks. He just greased up the rubber in the tracks and fixed his problem, not sure if yours is the same though.

take of your door panel and pop the window back into the track. eks are definately notorious for window problems. happened in mine and everyone else i knew with an ek.

Re: (knockout)
could also be the regulator
the popping noise is the sound of the motor gear trying to climb up the window regulator teeth, which are worn off.
happened to my civic. only thing you can do is replace the regulator.

yes they are, both of my ek's have done it. On my last one, one of the window gears was missing some teeth, causing it to slip.

would that be the case even though the window rolls up and down perfect but just does that when it hits a certain point while going up? because it goes down fine. how much does a regulator run? <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 92ehatch »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">could also be the regulator

yup. mine only had the teeth ground off on the very top, it went down fine, gravity helps. going up it would hit that point and just pop alot.
its easy to see if its like that, tke off door panel

Re: (mugenej8power)
this is kinda relevant, but, i've got a manual window and if it goes down all the way i'll have to rly push on that sucker to get it up. I hear cracking and all sorts of stuff, not to mention the handle is loose. Could this be cause tracks not alighned?

id say ur out of the rails.
mine likes to fall forward and not roll up tight to seal all the wind out. Ive replaced the regulator but that didnt help.

Re: (Malakai)
i took off the door panel and the screw that was holding the regulator was loose so i tightened it and that did not fix it. how can i tell if it is off track? it seems like it is on track, but i really do not know what i am looking for. like i said it goes up fine but when it hits about two inches from the top thats when the windows starts making a loud clicking noise and starts shaking. tia

Re: (abdulmo86)
omg READ what i POSTED
there are teeth on the regulator , make sure none of them are missing, ground off, bent, whatver might be causing it to pop and click.
do the same for the motor
