Wind Deflector Removal, need advice
So one of the previous owners had added a wind deflector on top of the car and I was planning on removing it.
I heard a Heat Gun might help take it off by melting the glue? So I would just heat it up and pull it off or what?
Here's an image so you can see how ugly it is , I guess the good thing though is if my car was ever stolen I can spot it from miles away since it'll stick out pretty well with this deflector lol .
edit: Guess this should have gone in the Paint & Body forum which I didn't notice until recently, but I can't figure out how to delete this post so w/e....

You'll definitely want to heat up the adhesive with either a heat gun (on a low setting so you don't damage the paint) or a hair dryer. Chances are good that there will still be adhesive residue left on the paint afterwards, which you can remove with WD-40.

It will be a PITA to remove it but with some time it can be done. Just removed 4 window visors for a friend the other day in about 2 hours. I ended up using laquer thinner (very small amounts and very cautious) and some goo gone and a heat gun and it came off pretty clean.

Use Low heat from a heat gun or a hairdryer then start at one end and slowly pry up> Use a credit card or something similar to go in between the 3m tape and the car.

Thanks for the tips. I don't want to use lacquer thinner but I'll give the WD-40 a shot, and a friend also told me Bug and Tar Remover spray may help. Just need to get myself a heat gun now.
