I have to go pick up a hood and I need to know if a hood off a coupe will fit inside the coupe, and in a way that I'll still be able to drive lol.

I fit 2 fenders and a hood for an eg hatch in my 2k coupe trunk. tight fit and i had to tie the trunk lid down with twine but you can make it work.

if your not that far from your new hoood, i say just take your old one off and have someone over there help you put the new one on. and plus you get to test fitment right away.
I had a hard time and did not succeed putting my oem hood in my 98 coupe. may be possible, but i would have had to really push that door open scratch up some plastic

in a hatch? yes it will fit. I had my CF hood in the rear of my eg hatch and had the tailgate and glass closed.
in a coupe? maybe, but I doubt it.
drive there without one or take yours off and try to fit it in the car.

Well I guess I could take my hood off and test fit it inside the car. The other hood is about an hours drive (highway) away. It doesn't bother me to drive that far without a hood, but the hood I'm going to get is a 99-00 hood for my conversion on my 98, so I don't think I could close the hood anyway if I were to bolt it on to my 98...hmmmm interesting situation I got myself into lol.

Re: (HybridEkH22)
Probably won't fit.
I drove 2 hours to pick up a couple of doors for my 92 coupe. I was just like "I'll just throw one in the trunk and fit the other through the door sideways and put it in the back seat."
Turned out to be a much bigger pain the *** than I thought it would be.
Have the guy measure the widest part of the hood and measure your trunk, both horizontal and diagonally. It may fit diagonally.

I don't think that's a good idea unless there is no gap between the front of the hood and the roof, as well as he'll have to use those thick 2" strappy things. If there's a gap it'll generate drag, if there's enough drag it'll break the ropes holding it, or the hood may bend back.

OT: it's posts like this that make me love my hatch so much more.
I had a driver's door, two front fenders, rear tailgate, the roof black trim strips with amps/subs in place and I still had room for luggage and two people sitting comfortably in the front.

hell yeah, i was able to fit everything for my apt in my hatch when i came down for school (well for my bedroom anyway, already fully furnished) and still room for someone up front and someone in the backseat.

that is probably your best bet.... best option would be to get a buddy with a truck or van that will let you borrow it, or go with you to pick it up. good luck.

I would take your hood off and see if it will fit in the trunk. If it doesn't you still get an idea of what you will have to do to tie the trunk down for the trip back. You could always borrow your parent's or friend's minivan if they have one =P
