Will full size spare tire fit in a 6th gen civic trunk?
Bought my DD 2000 civic si without a spare and I am planning on buying a full size civic 14" steelie/tire. Just want to know if it will fit in my trunk where the spare tire is suppose to be?

Assuming you have the stock tire size on them, yes. When I upgraded to 15's, I kept one of my steelies and keep it in the spare tire well. It's a tight fit under the cardboard, but it fits.

Yeah I used to carry a full size spare in my 94 Civic Hatch, and required its service on more than one occasion (bad luck with flats). I suspect the 6th Gen is similar. It was a tight fit and you have to pull the foam off the cardboard, but it goes in.

I have thought about putting in a full sized spare too. I threw out the cardboard and replaced it with 1/2 CDX plywood when I put in a sub-woofer. I figure I can use adhesive rubber or layered peel and seal to increase the height between the trunk's metal top and the bottom of the plywood if more room is needed to accommodate the tire.

Thanks everyone, I just wanted to confirm before I go out and waste my time on trying to find one. Thanks again!

I built a trunk board from 1/2" plywood to replace a damaged original on my 96 sedan. With the hole, it keeps a full sized spare on a stock 14" rim. I invert it so the stock hardware holds it down, and I cut a piece of the original board to cover the "hole". I store things in the spare wheel like jumper cables, a poncho, and a tire inflator.
