I found a rear sway bar of a del sol, its complete nothings missing i was just wondering if it would fit an ek, or what i would need to make it fit

Just by looking at it i would say its about 13mm, it kinda looks about the same size as the si (em1)

Yes it will fit as the eg dc ek rear sway bars are all interchangeable

But if ur car didn't come with one u will need the d brackets with busings with the backing plate as well as the endlinks with lcas that have the hole with threads on em so that the endlinks will bolt up as well as the 12&14mm bolts

You don't need backing plates. Though, it would be easier just to buy ASR backing plates, and and run their bolts. but, you can simply run 2 nuts, and 2 bolts on each side.

You really don't need anything for such a small bar.

Also, being as he has a EK, he doesn't need lca's.


Op, if it looks like a 13mm, I would bet it is a Si sway bar to begin with.

He does need the backing plates where the d brackets connect to as it connects the d brackets 2 the Lower subframe

A rear subframe reinforcement brace isn't necessary nor was it ever mentioned ^^^

And he does need LCas as that where the endlinks connect to

And 99-00 civic si EM1 chassis use 15mm thick rear sway bars stock just like the gsr and vtec model del sols

No, he does NOT need backing plates. I installed my rear sway bar just as I said. 4 nuts, 4 bolts, everything is perfectly. Over a year of hard driving and there is no issues.



Never said anything about a subframe brace.

No he does NOT need difference lower control arms. ALL 96-00/EK rear lower control arms are the same. All have a a hole for the endlinks.

No they don't. 99-00 civic SI's run a 13mm rear sway bar, however, so infomation poped up to say that 2000's came with a 14mm rear sway bar.

Not to be a dick, but you need to get your information straight before you post. I have SI sway bars on my car. I know what you need and what you don't need to install them.

No Del Sol sway bars will not fit a EK, I wish they did. On my Del Sol I had Eibach sway bars and wanted to put then on my EK but after a talk with a rep at Eibach they are different as far as the bend in the sway bar go and will not bolt up. I needed up putting Si sway bars on instead. GSR and ITR sway bars will work.

Don't those sway bars bolt to the shock bolt, instead of a regular endlinks?


EDIT, I just looked around, they do seem to not run the regular endlinks.
That is the issue. An OEM sway bar should work just fine.

the sway bay is actually still mounted on the car and its complete ( All Bolts, the brackets, bushings, endlinks)

All EG/DC/EK sway bars are interchangable. The difference is just the subframe brackets and Endlinks.

All I have is the rear sway bar from a 1999 GSR, I have no endlinks, brackets or anything. Where can I purchase all the stuff needed? Can I buy a kit anywhere?
