Will a D16z6 oil pan fit on the D16y8?
Basically, my friend at the local oil lube shop used to hook it up with free oil changes, turned out they came with a price, as he didn't torque the oil drain plug to proper spec, and thus cross threaded it or something...in any case, my mechanic pointed out that I should get my oil pan replaced on my next oil change. At the cost of $250 for the part and gasket...
My other friend has a oil pan from a D16z6 or some D15...I can't quite recall which, but I believe it's from a z6...in any case, would that fit my y8 despite the difference in materials (his is black, mine is aluminum)?
Thanks in advance, if this works it will save me some mod money =D.

i dont think it wil fit because the dipstick for the z6 is in the middle as to the y8 which is on the right side..i can be wrong tho..

you can always drill the hole in your pan bigger and tap it and replace witha bigger drain plug, thats your call, a d16y7 pan will fit too and im pretty sure a d15 pan may fit
