will a Civic hatchback CX really reach 110/120MPH with the CX tranny and all??
The gears seem really short in my CX but i assume final drive will take it to about 110or wherever the speed limiter is set.. anyone know where the speed limiter is set on a 93 CX ??

I think the max is somewhere near 110-120mph....it's been so long since i had a cx motor......i use to make long routine trips and would beat the hell out of my cx motor and never changed the oil. started with about 79k mile at the end 165k miles. i couldn't kill that motor...it just wouldn't die!

your cx gears are short? my friend had a stock 94 cx with the cx tranny and the gears were long as hell. his car hit 120 too.

last time i tried my cx (rsr header and exhaust ) maxed out at 105 in 3rd, shifted to fourth and didnt gain anything, shifted to 5th and started to slow down.
CX gears are super freaking long, maybe u have a dx or si tranny on ur cx.

My girl friend has got here CX up to 100 mph in 4th but never tried to go over. Figured 5th would of nto pulled any more anyways. And her gears are super LONG.

throw the engine, tranny and all off a cliff... reach speeds un fathomable
i hit 97mph with my cx and that took a lil under 1 1/2 miles to do...
i hit 110 in 3rd gear with the dx motor

I think it can be done. I've had my CX (before the swap) up to 100 on the interstate, and it felt like it had plenty to go.
Most people don't know that the CX has a 6200rpm redline (or is it 6500?), so it can be done.

ive been in a VX with intake header and it did like 102mph in third, it reached 100mph much faster than i had expected, to say the least, i was very impressed.
a CX? i bet it could get over 100mph just not in 5th gear. The motor wouldnt have enough power to turn that 5th gear.
