The rims are not the main factor... tire size is also important...

Jin, what size tires are you running?

depends how low you are, and what your rim offset is, You could go stock ride hieght, and some crazy offset and run 275's... but it would look retarded

my 225-50-15 will be here tomorrow for the front. will let ya know how it goes when they go on. don't mind beating the fenders out alittle, already have some. it is only a auto-x car.
it sits 2" lower than stock right now with 35 offset kosei right now.

depending on how low you are,
yeah I could see you running 225's without overbearing rubbing problems.

with properly rolled fenders of course.

I'd be more worried about rubbing on the inner fender and suspension arms than the outer fender(the one you roll) though.

if needed, i'll end running a 5mm spacer. but would rather not if i can help it.
i would rather have a 225-45-15,but can not afford dot-r tires every 10k miles.

as for the fender rolling, got a rubber mallet and wood bat ready.
oh well back to the never end project.

mmmm, be careful with fender rolling,
when bending the metal in, it can/will easily crack the paint along the rim of the fender.
I've heard using a heatgun can prevent this.

oh I should also note that you can get 215-45-15 toyo t1-s,
its a kinda old tire now,
but has been proven to provide very good grip,
not azenis level, but very good, and that tire size is really nice!
running that on a 15x7 tire would be awsome.

do a google search, saw em at one place for like $112 each.

Running 215/45/16 on a 2.25 lowered car. Had neuspeed sport on the car with a 1" gap per tire. Now on GC and the tires are not tucked, but close.

Just a little on the inner sub-frame. No rolled fender, etc. But I'm running crazy spring rates, 450 front/ 550 rear. Not alot of suspension travel at all.

those rates arent that crazy,
at least the front.
if you dont have a shortened shock, or extended mounts or something,
they you have no travel due to your drop.
but yeh, no travel will help with rubbing

i run 450/350 rates, and plenty of travel,
more rate in the front couldnt hurt.

your rear rate is pretty high actually which might be whats making em feel crazy,
you feel bumps alot if you have a stiff rear(theres no weight back there so the spring wont compress much.. you'll just feel the hit).

Have the GC upper extended mounts. Very nice. Once the scion Xb gets purchaced, then the 550 go up front and some 650-750 for the rear.

The three things that make the biggest difference in rubbing are ride height, wheel offset and amount of negative camber you are running.

I have 7" tires, and when I turn fast, they rub the back fenders a little, I rolled the fenders, and now it's fine. I think it was just the rims and they didn't exactly fit right.

i am running 205/50/16 and they rub takin corners fast and on uturns. I got GC's and the car is only lowered like an inch, but i think that 50 is too big for 16s so im trying to get some 205/40/16

put the 225-50-15 on the car sat. after rolling the fender and slightly flaring the fender out it is not rubbing the fender. it does however rub on the frame on both ends of tires on hard turns and on the seam above the tire. it also rubs right in front and behind the shock, where the shock tower starts. i might raise the front slighty and section and beat flat the seam.

this is with gc with 450 front spring, gc upper shock mount, and koni shock.
it did not go as bad as i had thought

overall still wish someone made a 225-45-15 street tire.

225's will rub for sure my car is dropped 1.5 inch and i have 205/50/15's on my civic and my fenders are rolled but thats not the thing it actually rubs the inside of your wheel well . It will rub down past the plastic then to the paint and to a metal shine after some u turns. but it is worth it when you have power and you need something to ground it with. I dont really u turn much and if i do i do a austin powers style thing or take it wide.
