A civic is an economy car. It is made for gas mileage not speed.

Honda has factory turbocharged cars for the Japanese market.

They actually have quite a bit of experience with turbos from F1 racing back when turbos were allowed and also CART. I think N/A is just a more reliable platform for them to base the bulk of their vehicles on. Honda arguably, produces some of the best N/A engines in the world, performance and emissions wise.

simply put, a turbo honda motor wouldn't go 200+ k miles. And that is what the honda name is synonamous with in the us, longevity! That is why we don't have FI hondas from the factory in the us.

Don't forget the turbo personal water craft. 1200 NA or 1300 FI. They did have a turbo motorcycle. Full boost at 7500

why honda didnt just make a EG and EK with a b18c from the factory? now that would be better. they shoulda made a U.S. version SiR of the EG and EK. u think they woulda caught on with all these swaps around. plus u would have warranties n ****... out of the box performance. but ah well

Because they cannot release a vehicle from their "lower line" Hondas that will out pace their more expensive luxury line Acuras.

you should say that to my friend who runs mid 14s with his Civic</TD></TR></TABLE>

Are you serious!!!!
1. How the **** is 14s impressive!?!
2. Honda added the VTEC in the EX/SI to give is a sporty feel even though it is an economy vehicle.

Seriously, take time to think before you post.

VTEC in sohc civics is to give it usable power when needed. mid 14's in a civic? whoop. thats nice but not "fast". just because civics can be made to be quick doesnt mean they are fast to begin with. seriously. we drive econo boxes. dress up a turd all u want. its still a turd
