NOT TRUE! I have a USDM OBD 1 p72 with crome pro that I got from hookups. Just ask, most long box(USDM) ECUs that are OBDI can easily be chiped & tuned.

p28's are great because you can easily convert them from auto to manual, easily chip them, easily add datalogging with a 9 dollar cable, they are cheap, and they are everywhere.
