why do headers in honda's.......
why do the headers in all honda cars go out the front, and the intake manifold go in the back of the engine? i was thinkin about it, and it seams kinda dumb. y didnt they make it like toyota has it, and have the headers go out the back, and intake in the front?

Hum y does a supra have twin turbo and I have VTEC? seams fair to me
Honda decided a header in the front floated their boat better, so they went with it.

No, when you are talking about multiple cars, they would have multiple headers genious.

if he's talking about multiple cars, why doesn't he re-phrase it "Why does the HEADER in all Honda cars..."

Because it's proper grammer as it stands. Not my fault you can't figure it out.
The subject is multiple items: Honda cars
And the subjects have one of the items: Header
So the question must ask in a multiple way.
You don't ask why do all of Mikey's shoe have camber wear on them??

What he said.
I think both ways have their own merits, though. Maybe Honda just wanted to try something different.

Re: why do headers in honda's....... (Ricey McRicerton)
The reason is because the engine is mounted sideways in the car.
Most all (prolly 99%) front wheel drive cars have the engines mounted sideways for simplicity of mating the engine to the drivetrain.
The design is called " Transeverse".

No, I just hate it when people get on here and try to act like dicks to someone when they don't know what they're talking about.

It's not constructive criticism when it's correct.

you meant, not constructive critisim when its INCORRECT?
i agree, but that was my main reason for pointing it out in the first place. I was simply being a good H-T member posting what I've learned--not being crude nor a "dick". Thus, someone pointing it out that my grammar was off. Touche?

Thank you. I don't go around on here tossing out misinformation and this is what you did. Be it grammar wise, but still. What the original poster said WAS CORRECT. I'm sorry he bent you all out of shape with his "headers" remark, but he was correct and you were incorrect. End of story.

I believe you Ricey, but the fact that you called me a "dick" doesn't serve me right. I admit I'm off with grammar but being a "dick"?

Boo frickety hoo. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt by a 19 year old kid on the interweb for correcting your grammar. You jumped the original poster so I jumped you. I can send you a box of tissues if you would like?

Re: why do headers in honda's....... (EJ1Z6)
can we lock this thread now
this is turning into a cat fight
ricey you have the higher post authoritah, so just let him be
anybody that went to school should know what is correct
and i am with you on this one
but seriously can we all just get along
btw so i stay on topic
i think the header placement was like that for ease of design
if you think about it fi you were to put the header on the other way it would have made things more compact thus harder to fit which in turn makes production costs go up
the newre rsx has a larger engine bay so it really doesn't matter
that is my standing on it
plus i think it looks wayyy better and we all know how much honda likes things to look good
