Default Whos here has no power steering!

Man you guys are crazy. I took it off on my friends SI and it drives like sh*t. You guys cant actually give up that luxury for some measly HP could you. I did feel the car has more control when going straight but on turns it sucks and parking is the worst.

did you loop it? or add a breather and drain some fluid?

it supposedly helps with required turning effort immensly.

i have a 2000 si and i took the belt off and it's never going back on. Instead of the car being all over the place at 80mph it feels more solid, i dunno how to explain it. i like not having it in turns to, because it helps me feel like i'm driving my car rather than my car driving me (:

No power steering and never going back, only if my next car weighs 3500LBS..then it's reqired...I drove a dodge intrepid once when the power steering broke and man you can not move it at all even when the wheels are rolling at 10MPH...

Eh, I like my power steering. I'm too lazy to swap in a manual rack so it's going to stay.

I'll deal with the hp it drags. Woe is me.

I love the fact I don't have pwr steering. with 15 or 16 in. wheels it aint bad to parallel or u-turn. get much better feel for the road.

May be OT, but when I lowered my car I noticed that my non-power steering seemed to steer alot easier and have play in the wheel a little like power steering.....I like it

dont have p/s here and i can parallel park with 1 arm, i got used to it i guess, when i drive a car with ps its just feels too loose of steering, and trust me without powersteering, adding suspension components, especially STRUT bars, not sway bars, you can actually feel the suspension tightening up a lot. boo to power steering.

Probably because the wheels cambered which leads to less tire being on the ground. I took out all my powersteering stuff but didnt loop the rack or anything and my car turns fine. I have had girls drive my car and they could drive it. It also gets much easier when you drain the fluid because there is no pressure on the rack.
