Who in the world makes a lightweight moonroof insert?
I checked the search, and mmrusa.com cause i heard they supposedly had some. Would this perhaps be a "custom" piece that would cost a ****** fortune to have made?? Am i a dreaming newbie with a heavy moonroof? Thanks guys

Thanks man, how much does the stock glass weigh? The mmr website says their pieces' shipping weight is only 8 lbs. It doesnt say what it is made of....? Is it a hard install?

Naw, they make it for the 92-95's, it's basically a piece of fiberglass almost the same size as the stock sunroof, you rivet the piece on, eliminating the sunroof altogether. Save weight give up sunroof forever

Has anyone used one of these? My sunroof stoped working a few month's ago and I've been wanting to make my car a track only vehicle. Does this thing leak? Does it effect the integerty of the chasis

Just make your own out of a lexan sheet that you can get from Tap Plastic.
cheaper and lighter

BRO....its not worth it....its not the sunroof that weighs alot its all the bracing put in the car becuase it has a huge hole in the roof!.......you'll never be as light as a civic w/o sunroof and ....well just dont do it IMO keep the sunroof and shave of weight elsewhere.....

Where is this bracing your talking about located? And I have taken off everything else I can. Except the moonroof

to remove it you would have to split the seams on your roof ( it's not possible) ...basically your roof has more metal sandwiched around the sunroof hole and in the roof than other vehicles to maintain chassis stiffness......IE: the major weight diif between a SI hatchback and a CX,VX,DX, is the sunroof and its bracing.

just do a search about hatchback weight.....it explains it in one of the threads...( about the sunroof and bracing)
