My best was 31.3mpg with a built B18C1 running on a stock ecu.
Regular driving with dips into vtec every time I go somewhere.
I never run down the tank... no gas light on my 92 hatch.

If it's not in miles-per-gallon, then it doesn't mean much of anything. Different Civic models/years can have different-sized fuel tanks, and not everyone fills up their tank at a certain point. I personally never let mine get low enough to trip the "low fuel level" light; when your fuel level is low, condensation can develop in the tank, and you can have starvation problems in corners.
With that said, I get a combined average of around 30 mpg in my stock 2000 Si, with shifts usually at around 3000 RPM. I have seen as low as 12 mpg (all in VTEC at full throttle) and as high as 38 mpg (constant load on the engine, shifts at 2500 RPM.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Finally somebody else who thinks the same way I do.
I'm utterly surprised at how MANY people do not understand how to properly calculate actual MPG.

Then why don't you share the knowledge and explain to these people how you 'properly' calculate MPG....

Multiply the number of gallons you filled up to the number that ='s how many miles you just traveld I belive

apparently cocaine is indeed a helluva drug.
i swear some people never passed 4th grade.
Miles Per Gallon = Miles Driven / (thats division) Gallons of gasoline in tank.
for example, if you fill up the tank to full capacity, lets say 12.0 us gallons, and drove 300 miles before running out gas, use the following extensive procedure to calculate miles per gallon: 300 miles / 12 gallons = 25 mpg.
just kidding . but targa does have a point. just saying xxx miles per tank is not an accurate statement of anything because, most fuel tanks have different capacities. so from my complicated formula above, you can easily see how it's meaningless.
also, many external variables can affect your measurement of miles per gallon. for example, smaller or larger tires will cause your odometer to count incorrectly. also, my gas gauge has a tendency to fluctuate all the time with changing elevation and attitudes.

B16A in a 95 cx. GSR transmission.
The best I've ever got is 38mpg. That's pretty damn rare for me. I normally get about 20-24mpg of daily driving. I like to get into the high cam, and I do a lot of driving at 75mph on the highway.

i only measured once, but i got 28.5 miles per GALLON....and that was mixed hwy and in town with me getting on it pretty regular....i'm sure i can get 30+
p.s....just press the trip odom. every time you fill up, then see how much you put in the tank, because you never run it ALL the way down....that way you can get a very accurate reading....the exact miles XX.X and the exact gallons XX.XXX.

I think I can top all of you guys, going on 350 now with 1/4 tank left
99 DX hatch AUTOMATIC. 97 auto Y8 intake mani, intake piping with stock air box.
14" stockies with 195/60 tires. I did notice when I carried another passanger, the gas went faster.
I'm all about gas saving at this point in time... 2.20 per gallon for reg is killing me for the driving I do.

Don't use VTEC, and lay off the throttle. VTEC puts a huge dent in your mileage.
Keep a constant load on the engine and use light throttle inputs. Shift at 3000 RPM or less. You're guaranteed to exceed 30 mpg this way.

I get 350-360 running my car almost empty filling up about 10.5 gallons so i assume i usually have about 1.4 gallons left So average around 33.3 . But once i divided it up and i had 42MPG. I have a sol with a D16Z6. Gas milage went way up with my Hx wheels
