White Smoke Problem
92 cx with a z6 head, but using a b8 ecu.
Im having some white smoke come from the exhaust during acceleration. I dont think its head gasket related because i show no symptoms of boggin or water coming out of the tail pipe. No bubbling coolant or dry radiator.
If i idle for a few minutes, like traffic, regardless of the temp outside, as soon as i take off i see some white smoke until i hit about 3rd gear. It goes away completely once im up to freeway speed and wont come back until i idle for a few minutes.
Im leaning towards leaking fuel injector INTO the IM. I smell some gas in the engine bay when this happens so im sure thats what it is. I just want some reassurance.
Also, my gas milage sucks big time, almost 1/4 of a tank for 40miles highway driving!

Re: White Smoke Problem
Sounds like a bad headgasket man, water doesn't have to come out the tailpipe for your head-gasket to be bad, the coolant,(ethylene glycol+water), leaks into the cylinders and gets burned into water vapor, which is the white smoke coming out your exhaust. First things first tho, get that injector replaced, see if that fixes the problem. Alot cheaper than getting a headgasket replaced.

Lets say it is blowing out, if so, then there is no seapage on the outside of the head. It must all be internally, Oh, and im not eating coolant, my rad is always full.
