Default Whinning from the clutch?

So I take off and shift from first to second, when I push the clutch in to change gears, the car makes a whine noise that fades out with the rpms. Anyone know what could be causing this?

if the whine is there at at idle with your foot off the clutch pedal and then goes away when the pedal is pressed in slightly it ususally means that your throw out bearing is going or you could have a leaking clutch master cylinder. HTH

and if you dont hear a whining at idle, and push in the clutch and hear a whining it could be your throwout bearing.

Yeah the car sounds different at idle and then when I push the clutch in it makes the whinning noise, its sort of faint, it sounds almost like two things are rubbing together to make the noise. Do you think thats what the problem is?

no no guys, it's not the throwout bearing, it's the release bearing... don't get confused here

im not confused. When a release bearing is ****ed up, the noise goes away when the clutch is pushed in. This is definitley a throwout bearing.

Mine makes the same kind of noise in all gears and goes away when the clutch is in. That means my clutch res. and master cylander are leaking or my throw-out bearing is going out. I thought it was my clutch at first but I hook well in second. It can’t be a bad clutch if I can chirp second.
