did you do the swap? did you fill the tranny fluid? its the sensor on top of the trans right by where younfilled the tranny fluid...its a weird looking sensor you shouldnt have to do anything to get to it..maybe remove the intake so you can get some light down there to be able to see

Right on top of the transmission...

There should be three bolts but you only have to remove the one on the top right to pull it out of the transmission...

I'll see if I can find a picture...

if its ob2 you can buy one of those scanners at autozone i belive otherwise theres a better tool that shops use to check that, either way you plug it into your computer port and take a drive and the computer will show you if its working or not

Are you sure the sensor is the reason your speedo doesn't work?

I would check everything else first...all connections, cluster etc...

If I remember right, the vss is not cheap!

I thought speed sensors were off of the wheel.

It reads from the tranny.

What if a bigger wheel was used, would that affect readings?

check to make sure the screws are on the back of the cluster on the speedometer, the speed sensor reads off a gear in the transmission...

Yes if you had bigger wheels and tires it would throw it off a bit. If i'm not mistaken it is also thrown off if you change the final drive.

I almost got enough money for that motec cluster, it has these radar speed sensors. Reads off of the ground or tire.
