Where does o2 sensor plug in?
I just finished dropping a 2000 type r motor in a 94 civic dx. I went ahead and used my obd1 wiring harness so I can use my chipped ecu as well as my type r is jdm so it wouldn't work anyways but my question is I have everything hooked up to my wire harness except the o2 sensor. It's on the bottom of my headers. What do I plug it into to make it work. Did I leave something on the old motor. I still have the old motor if that's the case. Is there a way to manually wire it to the ecu? This is the only thing stopping me from getting this car on the streets. Every piece of advise helps

its a square 4 pin plug...you cant miss it...its generally on the left side of the engine bay if your standing in front of the car...try crawling under the car and see if you can see any harness connections that you missed...i just found mine on the JDM ITR swap i just picked up....it only had 1 wire into it...lol....

I'll have to try that. Was that on your jdm harness? I'm using the Dx harness and I didn't see anything on the passenger side but I could be wrong

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
It depends on the ECU used. I think the correct ECU for this engine is OBD2 and requires two O2 sensors (one by the header and one after the catalytic converter) but there are people running with chipped OBD1 ECUs and require only a single O2 sensor.

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
I'm running a chipped obd1 ecu on this motor. Should I use the o2 from the header? And where is the plug on my harness, I can't find it anywhere. As far as I can see every plug is accounted for and plugged in except for a white plug behind the throttle, I believe it's my knock sensor, but I don't need it sense I had it removed when I chipped the edu. Any ideas or pictures of the plug that the o2 sensor goes into on the harness

You can always hardwire the O2 sensor straight to the ECU if you know which pins on the ECU attach to which wires on the O2 sensor. It's not that hard. Just find a pinout for your ECU and take it from there.

I'll have to check on my old motor if that's what I'm missing. Any idea where I can find that pinout online. Have u ever heard of someone manually wiring it. I asked a couple people and they looked at me like I'm crazy

And yes, I've heard of people doing it, don't mind your crazy friends
Edit: Another thing you can try doing is once you find out where on the ECU the O2 sensor wires connect, you can try pulling on them and see if any wires move in the engine compartment somewhere around the transmission area.

Here it is: http://www.dodo-upgrades.nl/pinoutp06p28p30.htm
Just would like to say, I don't know how accurate it is.

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
that was very useful my next question would be, do I need to make all 4 wires connect to d14 or single it down to 1 wire then connect it to d14?

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
You connect the O2 sensor signal wire to PO2S/D14 on the ECU. Then connect the O2 sensor heater wire to PO2H/A6 (either heater wire). Then connect the other two wires to chasis ground (I think).
Btw, I just noticed that the ECU pinout I linked to is for European ECUs. I don't know if the US ECU pinouts are the same (they should be for the most part).

If your sensor is aftermarket it has to come with instructions on which wire is which or look it up on the internet for the wiring configuration.

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
Ok. They r stock sensors, I'll check my Honda manual. Also I have never messed with wiring before but I know how to sauder. How do I actually connect it to the ecu. Am I tapping into the plug or the actual ecu?

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
It's alright that u didn't read it u might have gave me a second option. I have to find the plug from the original motor and extend and if that don't work then I'll have to figure it out manually wiring it. I still kinda need help on that cause I have to wire in my vtec somehow

Re: Where does o2 sensor plug in?
extend the stock plug... should be dangling under the distributor.
wiring it to the ecu is a pain, usually leaves most noobs with a cel for o2s heater.
i'm here for you blue!
