Where in the deuce can I find a replacement filter for the an AEM cold air intake (V1)
Hello,
I am looking online for a place to buy a replacment fitler for my 00 si AEM Cold Air Intake (not v2 and not the short ram). I also completely forgot what size the air intake was. Any info would help greatly.
Regards
Chad

Go to autozone and get a K&N.
They're the same size, it'll fit right on like the old one did...and K&N filters > AEM filters IMO.

I was thining that but was not sure it would work. Do you know the specific part number? I am looking on K & N 's website and the obviously don't tell you which filter is going to fit the AEM Cold Air Intake (V1).

Yup, local parts store for a K&N. You can also try ebay.

So I am looking on both K&N website and auto zones web site and this is what I found....
http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm
http://www.autozone.com/select...p.htm
I can only assume you guys are talking about a "Universal fit".
If anyone can still supply me with an exact part number that would be great

I actually couldn't find a cone 2.5" K&N filter from any of my local stores...I had to order off of K&N's website. They have every size and shape you could imagine on the site. Just take measurements of your current AEM filter and match up with K&N's site. If you Don't have the AEM filter anymore, than just measure the pipe diameter, and guess on the actual size of the rest of the filter.

Re: (EK9Tune)
it varies but any filter will work I've put a blitz and a weapon R filter on the old intake I have now this v2 I just got in that's a different story. I'll be headed to autozone in the morn and if worse comes to worse I will put a sock, stockings or a wave cap on that bitch as a filter

Honestly... aside from me having to rig the one I have up... Yeah I like It. My engine was actually acting noticebly better than when the v1 short intake was on. Acceleration was a lil better, sound was good, car didn't take as long to start.
Thing is i'm not sure if I can attribute that to the intake its self or the K&N filter that I bought which ended up not being exactly the same diameter size (the biggest one in the store) as the pipe so I cut part of the rubber then rigged it, sealed any areas connecting the rubber to the metal clamp to the rubber or metal (you get the idea) I sealed it with a hot glue gun. The filter was long so it's not in your standard area but it's nesting nicely right behind one of the opening in the c west bumper so it gets lots of air.
I road tested it on the way to school and back and it held up like a champ. There were some bumps cause of construction areas. The only thing I don't like about it is that they made the v2 insanely big diameter so it's a beotch to find a filter.
