Go to local swap shops.

Good luck finding a motor. If you can't find one or decide not to go turbo tell your buddy to sell the kit to me.

Have you tried Michaelson's?

I've seen a couple on ebay, but kinda pricey in my opinion. They were going for $800.00 buy it now.

I thought the whole jdm 30k mile limit thing was pretty much established as being a myth? It is not always guaranteed that the jdm d15 will have less miles than a z6 here, nor is it necessarily in better condition all the time.

I'm not saying the d15b is a bad option, but I would be more inclined to buy a d16 from a private party. It is more or less the "budget" option engine to begin with, so buying from a shop who might ask a higher price seems to defeat the purpose of opting for the engine in the first place. Of course getting a full swap with everything needed is certainly convenient.

I found z6 block/head here in the honda-tech classifieds, and I would bet there are others in good shape to be found there. I tracked down a z6 tranny locally, where I rescued the unwanted heap from the corner of someone's garage, where it was simply collecting dust. It only cost me 50 bucks. Just be careful, try to feel out the seller, make sure they can be trusted, there is no shortage of thieves in this world, but there are some good folks on H-T as well.
