5500 it is. Do a 2nd or 3rd gear pull when the engine is nice and warm and you will def. hear it.

You can't really hear it unless you have some sort of intake on it, the oem **** muffles it a lot. Sounds like a sohc before vtec, then sounds more 'hungry' like a dohc. When I got vtec to work, it reminded me of my b18b when it hit 4k powerband peak - I loved that sound. More subtle sound than say a CTR's x-over. Its harder to hear because exhaust is mainly what you hear on dohc's, which never changes on a sohc.

this is definately news to me. maybe an L.E.D. somewhere obscure would be benefitial. but an incandescent light on top of your dash would be really annoying and silly. And before you say it mike93eh i know you didn't say anything about a bright light on the dash.

You're probably running a p28. Y8's come with p2p's which is what he's talking about most likely.

Yeah it is a P2P. well i never really have the car up that high in the RPMs becasue i dont have much power there...i am doing a Y7-Y8 conversion... so yeah... if i get a v-tech controller and make it come it at say 4500, right when the power band gets weak, will that help, or because the fuel maps and such are not programed to work there, will it be pointless... but wont the O2 sensor pick up the change in air/fuel ratio and adjust for that?

If you really want to hear it turn on your ac to 2, and slowly take it to 5500. I think you'll hear it a lot better. Still weak though.

aljfjalfakljf;dshfhasluihvoizahjvoera!

even better switch plug wire on cylinders 2 and 3. retard timing 6 degrees. shove a sock in one of the intake runners and run it to 5500 in reverse. this is the best way to get the "VTEC SOUND ARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!"
