Whats needed to put Power steering in my swapped civic?
I have a 1996 civic coupe with a B18b in it....what do I need to install the power steering back into it? Just trying to put it back in to help sell the car.

Re: (Sick_Hatch)
When i swapped the motor I pulled all of the D-series AC, PS and cruise out. Well Now I want to put the PS back in with the b-series.

ok, this is what i don't understand.if you removed the power steering system, then how did you drive your car? it's harder to drive a car that has power steering, but for example the pump was removed, than one that never had p/s to begin with.
not to mention if you removed the pump but left everything still intact, there is a possiblilty that the rest of the system can be damaged.

Hmm, Its not uncommon for people to remove the PS. It drove just fine. ALL of the PS steering stuff I have is from the D-series. I need to know what parts I need to buy/find/use to install power steering in my civic with a b18b?
I dont understand the confusion. Its a swapped civic with out powersteering...I just want to know what parts to use to put powersteering into the car now, after the swap.

hhmm!! i was trying to understand if the car had p/s from the factory. since you claim it once had p/s. then all you need is p/s pump, bracket, belt from any b-series. the hoses connect dead on w/ no modification.
and relax alittle bit, just trying to give the right answer.

Re: (philosofy1)
I'm relaxed. Did any 96-00 coupes come with-out power steering? In my 3rd post i said i took all the stuff out from the d-series out including the Power steering. Thus meaning it had power steering and i removed it.
thanks for the help.

HX's have power steering, my boss has one. CX's weren't coupes...and I'm almost positive that my room mates old 98 Dx coupe had power steering..but I'll have to ask or go look at it. Either way it doesnt matter...just some dumb confusion.

Re: (NickW)
It was an option. You need a ps rack and pinion which you should have. If you did the manual steering conversion properly, reverse it. If you did not I suggest replacing the rack because you probably damage the seals, and got dirt in there. You need an LS ps pump and corresponding bracket. You need the reservoir, the pressure line and the return line from you car. This was already stated earlier, you just wanted to argue about which models came with ps and which didn't. If you would've just shut up and listened to the people trying to help you, you would've gotten your answer earlier.

Hey cheese head, they were asking questions and I was answering to clear up the confusion...If I would have shut up and listened, they would have never known exactly what was going on, making it abit tough to help me.
And you're right it was stated earlier, so no need to just repeat the info. I got it the first time around.
