my buddy just bought a 2000 accord with factory cd player. we took the battery cable off to change to hid's and when we put it back on, the cd player neede a code, he just called honda with the vin # and they gave him the code, no charge took 5min. the # should be in your factory manual.

they're jerks about it! (at least ones i've dealt with)...
but they'll ask you for a few things...
1. license plate number
2. vin number
3. make, model of vehicle
4. year
5?... supposedly you must get the code from the DEALER where the car was PURCHASED from.... (sounds like bs to me... how would you know if the deck is second hand?)...
the object for them is to interrogate you and make sure that the deck isn't stolen. doing it over the fone is even worse, they're not supposed to give it out at all. i had to speak to a manager for the longest time just to persuade him!
btw, all the above is from what an actual rep said to me... good luck, you'll eventually get it ... dont forget to NOT pay!!

You need the serial number on the bottom of the radio and call Honda. Tell them the number and they should give it to you free of charge. You cant use your VIN because there are so many radios out there that they wouldn't be able to find ****.
If they ask just say you unplugged your battery and forgot the code.

I used my vin to get the radio code. This was done by calling the dealership where the car purchased. They pulled it up. Done this on an integra and odyssey.

Honestly man it would be better to get a better head unit then the stock deck. You'll like the new deck more too. Just ask your friends to give you one, they're bound to have one. I know my friends have a bunch laying around and they install it for me too.

stock decks are my favorite. they dont have a lot of amps, so
your crappy speakers sound great.
but back on topic
get the phone book, and call every dealer in there.
one of them will do it. Just have the serial number. (on back of head unit)
Tell them you got it off ebay and you tried to put it in and
its asking for some kind of code. 95% of them will tell you
to bring it in with a recipt and they will do it, but there is that
one old man who just dosnt care that will try and get it for you.
But some times the computer wont even let them without the
vin. Good luck, and dont use my info for stolen stuff.

oen of the guys I know at a dealership informed me that honda passed some sort of memo saying that you can no longer give out radio codes over the phone. you have to come in with the radio IN PERSON with proof of ownership of the car so they can cross reference the radio against the vin number. I tried 3 dealerships before I called my friend that works. I should have just called him first. He gave me the code only because I have been going into the dealership for the last 6 years.
