I run an Ultrastart on mine because I wanted the remote start and alarm. The only thing I dont like about mine is you have to push the brake twice before turning the motor off and getting out of the car. Its a pain in the *** but its a manual and you HAVE to do it blah blah blah for safety....

compustar is the 2-way paging alarm that many H-T'ers find useful. you should also look into Clifford alarms. whatever you get, make sure the install is clean and somewhat custom so that the brain is not right underneath the dash on the driver's side.

Mine is also a two way pager model, I picked it up for around $300 it dident come with a lot of features aka motion sensor which I loved from my old car but it does have ports to add them in after the fact. I also installed it myself which saved me LOTS of money and I was able to hid it behind the air box somewhere I forget where

get the viper alarm that has trackig feature on it... its 160 a year tho but you can go online at any time and see how fast anybody has been and set a perimiter around it at night and if it moves out of it it will call you and notify the police

My 5 dollar kill switches will give me more protection then a 500 dollar alarm. Just think about that. I hate alarms, all they do is make noise and there easy to get around. Hide switches around your cabin and switches for switches then the only way to steal your car is tow it. Which by the way if they really want it theyll do that.

Yeah but with a nice paging alarm it will alert you if someone breaks open your window or something...

I'd get the cheapest pager alarm and then spend the rest on a backup battery, interior sirens, kill switches and dead bolts.

An alarm is only as good as it's install.

EDIT: And Luserkid, I can guarantee you that it'd take a theif longer to get my car started than yours. I have my alarm wired through my ignition so that if the car hasn't been unlocked with the key fob in the last 30 seconds, the ignition won't fire.

This is on a Viper ESP500 with all of it's goodies and a motion sensor inside the car.

Just get that $25 driveway alert and a metal baseball bat and you're good

Quick OT/Hijack question: If you're in a building where you don't have service (on your cell phone) would the pager alarm have trouble sending the signal to you?
