Odds are, it's real. The plastic you refer to is called "duracon" and I believe it's supposed to be lightweight. The aluminum ones are a bit heavier. However...the shift **** DOES thread in a ways more than a regular shift ****.
But if you want a big meaty shift ****, Razo makes a leather 700g shift ****. Feels like 3 handfuls of pennies in your hand, and is black with red stichin's.

I was surprised by how small it was too. After a drive though, I found I really liked it. Feels more direct or something. I'm switching back to my stock one tomorrow to see if I like that better (just for comparison's sake), but the Spoon one is pretty nice.

I think it feels real good.
I love it b/c it barely heats up in the sun. I also live in AZ where it
is 100+ degrees constantly. I also have no tint and don't cover it.
I love how it doesn't generate much heat.

Haha, well the Spoon **** is really small compared to others out there, to me it looks simple and clean. Riding in so cal with no A/C, you need all the everything else to be as cool as can be, and the duracon material lets your hand not burn everytime you're "granny shiftin not double clutchin like ya should YO" a little bit pricey albert, but i just hada get it to match the shift boot man..hah. Good luck with your search for a 240...most important thing is to check for rust and wear around all the joints!

Re: whats the deal w/ the spoon shiftknob? (EEK)
All you guys saying that the Spoon **** is not worth the money are crazy. Spoon shift **** is cheaper than most shift ***** out there unless you buy some ghetto *** name brand shift ****. I got my spoon shift **** for $40 shipped, and the most I have ever seen them go for is $60. And if you bought yours for $60 you obviously didn't look hard enough because almost everywhere i go the **** is between $40-50. Anyway, if thats too much for you, then I guess you should just stick with stock, because 90% of the good shift ***** are gonna be at least $40.

my friend has the spoon shift ****, i think its pretty damn cheesy,. too small and too light weight for my purposes, i like the feel of throwing the shifter into gear

1) You think its espensive-price a momo
2) Duracon plastic feels sooooooo smooooooth
3) Duracon plastic stays cool (have you ever felt your shifter after a coulple hours of driving on a 95 degree day)
4) Its probabally th most pratical spoon product, it is one of my favorite spon products.
5) Its small, throws through gears nicely and makes my ***** feel HUGE!
JMHO

Re: whats the deal w/ the spoon shiftknob? (trustsi)
ironic that this post came up, ive been pricing skunk2, greddy, spoon and DC. What do you guys think, Greddy is my top pic thus far because it is dirt cheap, where are you refering to that has spoon for <50$, every price ive seen has been 75+
