what is wrong with my shift linkage?
I'm not sure if i just need new bushings or what but it's really loose and my 3rd gear also grinds at higher rpm and was wondering if it's my synchronize or what? thanks.

looseness is probably the busing at the bottom of the shifter. grinding would be your syncro's. what fluid are you using? if your not using honda MTF try it out and see if you notice any difference. stay away from syncromeshes cuz those would just be a temporary fix and could lead to some serious issues

shifting and grinding at high rpm into 3rd is common on tranny's with worn syncro's.....gearspeed makes upgraded ones

get a set of polyurethane shifter bushings. There are two different sets, one for D series, one for B, so pay attention. That takes out the slop. The original rubber bushings get weathered and mushy.
If you feel like spending a little money, you could order a new change ball bushing, rubbers, nuts and bolts and such and just make your linkage like new. The parts are fairly cheap from Honda.

get underneath the car and replace the bushing. as far as fluid dont bother checking what was in it since you just bought the car you should just replace aaall fluids.
its only 4 bolts that hold the shifter together and in place. you dont need to get it off the tranny or anything for that
