Default What would you recommend!?

Ok guys first i want to say thanx to anyone who posts to this sort of poll i have!
Please no flaming or anything just true honest posts and experiences only!

The breakdown: Ok i currently have a 93 honda civic lx which im about to paint and do body work to.Currently my FB is a piece of **** body kit type that is all broken since i bought it,also the RB aint oem and looks like **** and is all unpainting itself so it looks like a camouflage. Im currently debating on what i should replace the FB or the whole body with a fullbody kit(of course the one im looking at aint all exagerated) or replace with oem FB,RB and drop it and add a front lip to it? Note im painting my car black!! THANX for any suggestions

Certifit sells body parts for cheap. They're OEM style. lots of body shops use em.

i have an after market FG bumper its not extreme, i like it actually, the only problem i had was the way it was fitting. so i had to learn how to work fiberglass ; filling gaps, holes, reinforcing, etc. (took a lot of time) but it came out nice.

if you dont want to work that hard i suggest oem with a lip, oem always fits best

In my opinion keep it OEM.

plain simple and clean as ****

body kits arent bad either just not too exadurated and make it flow.

if you still cant decide just think to yourself .... what would chuck norris do ?

Fiberglass bumpers also weigh a lot more than stock plastic bumpers which weigh basically nothing.

I'd say go with the OEM setup. It'll also look a lot better to the general public, the police, and pretty much any honda enthusiast.

Nathan</TD></TR></TABLE>

Fiberglass weighs more than urethane? I dont think so man.

OP....anything is acceptable as long as you like it, i guess. I dont like aftermarket body work on most cars. Exceptions would be older RWD cars like S13s and RX7s. I think aftermarket body parts look really bad on civics. Im talking about body kits....not OEM style aftermarket parts.

Mugen is OEM
and Spoon is OEM BTW. lol i used to have a mugen "style" lip on my EG.

he's right. My oem bumper weighs ~15 lbs.

Body kits are heavy as expletive.

Fiberglass is NOT lightweight. Ever held a 12' fiberglass ladder? ~60lbs

yeah but thats a 12foot ladder. Do you have a 12 foot bumper? If a 4 ft urethane bumper is 15lbs, then a 12 ft urethane bumper would be 45 lbs. but it wouldnt hold a person up.

The ladder is also meant to hold a 200lb+ person from falling to his/her death (or crippling injury)

Fiberglass that body kits are made from is generally light. The fiberglass roof for the S2000 weighs about 2-4 pounds more than CF. Fiberglass body work is also very light weight.

I just measured my bumper, it's ~8ft from fender to fender.

It depends on the Fiberglass work too, i've held body kits that weighed 40lbs, and i've held others that don't..

It's really all in the work, i used to work at a place that had a department that made fiberglass sheeting.
