What would you pay for this '92 CX? (Warning: Large Pics)
It has about 148k miles on it. 5-sp. A/C. Bunch of door dings on just about every panel of the body, including the roof (how, I don't know). Some funky wavey dings on the passenger side door -- looks kinda iffy as to whether or not it can be repaired via paintless dent removal. Rear bumper is fading at a different rate than the rest of the car. Gas door is tweaked. I'm thinking about offering the dealership $2500 for it. Is that too much?

Sorry Cheesfrog, No answer here, but just wanted to ask if this is the R's "replacement"!
Looks like Jack's (B18CX5)s civic...especially the door dings part.

There will never be a replacement for my R... I just need something to drive around (with a B18C swap, of course) until I find the right Supra.

Yeah...so I figured a '92 might not hold out so long...looks good though!
We have (had) the same number of posts!

$2500 is too much...i see hatchbacks advertised on the recycler (local for sale paper here) for $3-4k for newer years with less mileage...

1500, if it's running, 700-1000 if it's not...
That is step one of this http://forums.clubsi.com/ubb/Forum38/HTML/003626.html

Check the ROOF out for warpage. This tends to be one of THE worst parts in terms of costly body work required to make the car near-perfect again. Front end damage like fenders and hood are no big deal, but the rear quarters and the ROOF will cost big time.
Take the car by a good body shop and get an estimate on how much it will cost to make the body smooth and paint it. I'd base the price a lot on that. I got an EG for $400 that had a seemingly great body, and it ended up costing $3,147.00 to fix all the dings and straighten out the warped rear quarter that "didn't look so bad" at first. So I have about $3600 in a perfect-bodied EG now - still not bad.
If the body is truly straight, and the car runs, and has a CLEAN non-salvage title, $2,500 is still reasonable. I'd give $2000 in a heartbeat if the bodywork isn't too expensive.
Tell us about the body - pics do no good. I had pics of mine before I went to FLA to get it and the pics still didn't show all 22 dings on that bitch!
Good luck, and soon you won't even remember what the old R felt like - I promise you I think you'll find the hatch more fulfilling, and definately faster than the old R.
Good luck!
