Default What would you do next ?

Hi guys,

I have a relatively stock B16A..... just a few mods like intake, exhaust, fuel pressure regulator and a FIELD's SFC VTEC controller.

I have 3 options to think about...

1. EK9 pistons
2. EK9 intake manifold
3. B18C bottom block

which of this 3 would you do first ? and why ?

thanks

pistons... it will give the most gain, least headaches.

I don't know what EK9 is. Any way adding the b18c bottom end would give the most performance. It would give you more displacment from a longer stroke, in addition, while doing it add a more aggresive piston. Maybe from a CTR (Is that a ek9?).

ek9 = civic type R.

and the best of the three would be the b18c1 shortblock(although a b18c5 shortblack would be cheaper)....while your gonna be there throw in those Civic Rpistons too...

Oh and the Civic R intake manifold won´t do you good..it´s almost the same as the b16a one.. the integra R manifold on the other hand...is a complete different story...

But i thought that the Type R manifolds are the same for both Integra and civic? hmm.....

the manifolds are different you get more power form the integra type r because it flows more air

ITR intake manifold isn't going to give you much of anything for gains w/o an ecu upgrade (to raise rev limit) and some cams.

What about a header first? Get the basics completed before moving into internals.

I DO think that CTR pistons would be worth your while, though. I'm still debating whether to do cams or pistons next...

ITR cams?

I would rather go CTR cams ...higher lift

Um, yea. The CTR and ITR manifolds are identical in every way. Same part # too.

Well, you DEFINITLEY won't get as much out of your cams without a header. I agree that it doesn't give much, but it's a neccessary evil in preparation for bigger and better things.
