What would you do next ?
Hi guys,
I have a relatively stock B16A..... just a few mods like intake, exhaust, fuel pressure regulator and a FIELD's SFC VTEC controller.
I have 3 options to think about...
1. EK9 pistons
2. EK9 intake manifold
3. B18C bottom block
which of this 3 would you do first ? and why ?
thanks

I don't know what EK9 is. Any way adding the b18c bottom end would give the most performance. It would give you more displacment from a longer stroke, in addition, while doing it add a more aggresive piston. Maybe from a CTR (Is that a ek9?).

ek9 = civic type R.
and the best of the three would be the b18c1 shortblock(although a b18c5 shortblack would be cheaper)....while your gonna be there throw in those Civic Rpistons too...
Oh and the Civic R intake manifold won´t do you good..it´s almost the same as the b16a one.. the integra R manifold on the other hand...is a complete different story...

Re: What would you do next ? (ek9hatch)
ITR intake manifold isn't going to give you much of anything for gains w/o an ecu upgrade (to raise rev limit) and some cams.
What about a header first? Get the basics completed before moving into internals.
I DO think that CTR pistons would be worth your while, though. I'm still debating whether to do cams or pistons next...

Well, you DEFINITLEY won't get as much out of your cams without a header. I agree that it doesn't give much, but it's a neccessary evil in preparation for bigger and better things.
