Default what is too high of a comp ratio?

is 11.3:1 too high of a comp ratio to run on stock gsr internals? i got a b18a1 block strapped to a b18c1 head and wanted to know if that was too high for a daily driver?

If you check the all motor forums you will see that quite a few people are running the rs machines type r pistons(11.8:1) compression with no problems,as long as you keep it at the stock rev limiter youll be just fine

You can run 13:1 copression on 93 octane you just have to make sure it doesn't knock and have a good tune. If it knocks pull timing. Rev limit has nothing to do with compression. 11.3:1 is pretty safe...

How did you come up that gsr pistons in LSvtec would give you that compression? Rod bolts?

well the concern here is that as revs increase rod stretch increases, so if he bumps compression up by say milling the head, and then revs the motor to 9500, he could end up with an internal collision engine which doesnt last nearly as long as an internal combustion engine.

but in general yeah rev limit doesnt have much to do with compression but when we're talking whats safe and whats not.....
