What should I do......
I can't wait to start my 97 si converted dx turbo'd ls/vtec project but here are the only things holding me back. I need more knowlege about engine components (mainly electrical and some mechanical), tools, money, and a spot to do the work. So with these in mind I have come up with a few ideas:
IDEA #1
Buy the 97 si converted civic w/o motor (2700), invest in some of the necessary tools, keep reading up on ls/vtec swaps and other info., wait till I have the money for every single peice for the swap and do it all at once, then wait till summer and do it.
IDEA #2
Don't buy the 97 civic but wait till I find a different one, buy some tools, save up, and gain more knowlege. When I have the cash and place to do it, then I do it.
IDEA #3
Buy the 97 civic, buy the tools, store the car for a while (until summer), then put the ls motor in there, wait till I have the money for the b16 tranny and head, and buy the turbo setup piece by piece
If you have any other suggestions please let me know, maybe a place I could store the car. I was thinking one of those rent garage type deals but don't know how pricey they are and if they have power so I can work on my car? Anyways I want the 97 because it has obd1/obd2 wireing harness, ecu, si headlight conversion, si intereior + guage cluster, redone suspension, and the body is near mint condition. (for 2700 thats not bad).

Re: (b18bcivic)
nobody builds their first project right... experience = priceless... do whatever you do, and all you can do right is learn from it. all 3 choices are cool. i'm sure everyone here's made mistakes and they're all stepping stones to where they're at now... including myself... after 5 integra's... still learning.
all 3 ideas are cool... it's all on you.
