Default What potential is there for a JDM D15B in a 94 Civic hatch?

I bought a Civic the other day..not sure if I will keep it or not yet. It has the JDM D15B motor with matching LSD tranny. The car is around 2100lbs without me...so what would the car possibly run at the track? All stock except an air intake...

that's not to the wheels bro. why not pick up a d16z6 for much cheaper. 1.6>1.5. just because it's from jdm land doesn't mean it's best! no you won't be in the 17s. thats what my hatch runs with my d15b7 . you'll be in the low 16s. i've seen NA sohcs run high 14s but if i were you i'd just slap a turbo on the sohc.

Well..it really would not be something I'm going to mod out..more less a daily driver if I keep it. The car already has the D15B in it with the limited slip diff. Seems odd that it would not run 15's though.

The jdm d15b is a good price for what it is. yeah, it may be $450. But by the time that you get a decent d-series block, a decent d-series head. a z6 or y8 intake manifold, injectors a z6/z1 distributor, wiring harness you will have spent a lot more than 450.

the jdm d15b prevails in that it has a unique 1.62 r/s ratio So it can handle the revs better than a d16 block can.

The jdm d15b and the d15z1 are the ONLY d-series motors that use the d15 crank / d16 rod combination.

I personally may infact be building a jdm d15b block up in the distant future

If you dislike Honda's so much, you could always buy a Ford Escort

There's a difference between not liking hondas and saying that JDM is a fad that attracts rich white people....

people g2 get hte JDM headlights, and the JDM STOCK bumper, to make their car look...RICEYx10000, it's seriously sad...

my USDM is perfectly fine....don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with japanese domestic cars, I'm a big fan of the supras they have over there (and yeah, there's a lot of them, was there last summer so don't tell me there isn't..), but the way people have to scrounge around for JDM parts like the new JDM fog light system they paid 800 for is going to give them 95 extra hp

Like I said, my USDM civic is perfect the way it is, USDM, manufactuered in canada, guess I Rather have it produced up there then hetcho en mexico due to labor costs...

stock the car will run high 15's, but u have the option of turbo charging the motor for really cheap. With a 1000 bucks you can turbo it and have it running respectable times. The advantage of a single cam is that if it blows up, they are super cheap to replace.
....I say boost it 4 cheap
