Default what is this part?

hey guys, friend of mine has a 1998 Civic DX 4 door. i noticed he has a boot that is ripped. i'm trying to find the name of this part, (it's not the CV joint). it has a ball joint that is pretty wobbly towards the wheel side. you can see from the picture there's a pretty bad rip in the boot.

any help appreciated. thanks.

cool, thanks Rick. another question... both ball joints on the tie-rods are pretty wobbly, from what i understand i should not even be able to move that at all with my hand right? so looks like i will have to change out both the inner and outter tie rods...

ok, i'll definitely replace the ball joints for the outter tie rods. but is the inner tie rod boot sold as one piece? there should be grease inside the boot correct?
