What is this noise coming from my car?
I have an 98 Acura EL, basically your luxury Civic sedan. There is some sort of clicking/ticking noise that I hear whenever I first start to accelerate for a couple of seconds, then it goes away. The same sound is heard when I brake. I have brought it to a mechanic to inspect. The suspension was tightened down, and the front sway bar bushing lubed and the same sound is heard.
Could anyone determine what this sound could be?
Thanks.

Re: (EGandDArida)
Yes, the front of the car somewhere, but the mechanic couldn't determine from where; that it could be a long and costly process to determine what it could actually be by checking if it could be one thing, and finding out that it isn't. I was told if the noise got louder to bring it in again, but it shouldn't be affecting the safety of my vehicle. My car rides and handles fine. It is just an annoyance, this noise.

I was looking at another thread and was mentioning a clicking sound when he brakes. He had hit a curb, and the people mentioned it's probably a bent axle or his cv joint? Could this be the issue for my case too? I did hit a curb on both sides of the car in the front in the winter going down a right hand curve. My steering immediately shook like crazy and was off centre. It was determined that both my 2 steel rims were bent. I got 2 new ones and got an alignment and everything is fine. Now I don't know if this sound came before or after I hit the curb though.
But even if it is a bent axle, is this easy to determine?
