what motor would you chose??????
heres the deal i have a nissan 240 sr20det, so im not to worried about a car with a ton of power. I sold my 259hp 2000 civic si turbo and got the nissan. so i have had a civic with some power before.
But i just picked up a nice 93 hatch DX for 100bones the other night, and i wanna throw a swap in it. heres my options.
NO b16 as the have no torque and are far to slow for my taste
1: a b18 complete swap so i get all the parts, then throw a vtec head on it later
2: a b20 motor then find all the rest of the parts for the swap, or does any one know where i can get a cheep full b20 swap from? (later do a vtec head on it)
3: just get a gsr swap?
4: h22 swap, pricy but moster torque and hp of the bat
i wanna run some good times is the quater, my civic si was great but the car was just to heavy and i wanted rwd, but now that i have a prity much free hatch i kinda wanna give the hondas another chance. tell me what your ideas are?

Talk about reliablitiy, get the H22. You got a pretty quick car that will probably last 100k+.

Re: what motor would you chose?????? (viet)
thanks for the coments guys. oh as for the 8to1, try living in north dakota, where the higest gas is 91 and its half the time watered down and bad. 8to1 for a daily driver was much better than ading a bottle of octane booster everytime i fill up.
Im thinken the h22 will be the way to go. gotta have the torque.
The chass is flawless just a few dings. as for cars
i have a 98 honda crv (daily driver), a 89 ford escort (daily driver when weather is bad), a 92 nissan 240sx se, sr20 on the way, and the 93 hatch (project)
But i hear your point on the 8to1, it kinda killed the power top end but not really noticable in normal drivng, cause i needed more boost, but the motor was fully built and could take 20psi easy. I just did not like the idea of my new 2000 civic being the race car, so striped it and sold it.
