what motor to use???
hi i am new to hondas and my friend is currently thinking of making an EK hatch(93-95) bad ***, the thing is i cant really sugest what motor to use in the swap.
he is thinking about an H22, i have heard that they aren't to boost friendy and he was looking to boost the car, so what is the best motor to make about 300-400Hp on the turbo. or will the H22 be fine to make that much power.
Thanks,
Tyler

Ok...first of all, people are gonna jump all over you. The EG hatch is from roughly 92-95. To be making 300-400 hp, you will be doing some major motor work. Yes, you could boost an H22A on stock internals and make that much power, but it won't last long...I know from experience. When rebuilding the motor, put in some lower compression pistons. Why else would it not be boost friendly? If you are the knowledge making suggestions to your friend, meaning you know more than him...I would doubt that car will ever make that much power...

^^^^he speaks the truth. You guys should start simpler than that. Learn what your talking about first. Every person on this forum knows that a 92 civic was the same body as 93-95, that show'd your ignorance right from the get go.
Get a Civic Repair Manual, it'll be the best thing you ever bought for your car.

ok first off i told you guys i dont know much about hondas but i can rebuild motors and i have built up motors before, just a mkiii supra motor and a chevy ls1 v8. i know about low comp pistons, and that kinda shiz i just wanted to know if there was a particular motor that was better than an H22.
and i would never start a rebuild without a manual first thats just like flying blind.
thanks

B16 then redo internals then put the boost on.

I'd start with a B18B and build that. Then boost it. IMO.
