what mods to do first?
hey whats up guys...
i just bought my civic 97 hb blown engine...im getting a us gsr swap and wondering what mods you would think to do next?
im already planning on:
aem intake
skunk2 exhaust
hi flo cat back
skunk2 short shifter
act street disc clutch
now heres my dilema, should i do suspension 1st such as skunk2 coilovers and kyb adjustables ??? or should i upgrade the brakes?? i was also considering ctr cams?
let me know what you think depening on the costs i will have between 700-1000 left over to spend
also if anyone is intersted i have 2 red and black konig v racing rush race seats...in excellent condition asking 700 but im neg or williing to trade for gunmetal, black or bronze rims...
thanks for the advice guys i appreciate it!!

I prefer the Ground control coilover/ Koni Yellow set up over the Skunk/KYB AGX setup..my friend with a 2000 Civic Si has that set up..and its not a smooth ride...handles fine...but the spring rates are really high from skunk...I am running my 2000 Civic EX on ground controls with a 350 spring rate in the front and 275 in the rear..with Koni Yellow adjustable shocks..rides really smooth..not bouncy..and really handles great!! and i mean great handling!!! Just ask everyone on this board what they would prefer over the two set ups..

oh yeah..that reminds me....when u order ur coilovers u have to specify what spring rates u want or else they will just send you their set spring rates which are high....thats really the only benefit of the ground controls over the skunks...that u can customize ur spring rates for comfort..and also because ground controls use eibach springs which are very good quality...

i think that you should get ground controls with kyb and you should get some strut bars and sway to make it handle really good around turns

The best $300 or so you can spend is at a driver's school such as Skip Barber (www.skipbarber.com) or Bob Bondurant (www.bondurant.com). You'll be able to beat cars with 50hp more than you on the track! Or suspension mods first will be good, since that's what's gonna be the most noticeable (if you're dropped or not).

I would say upgrade the suspension...
But I have to agree with evenone and ditch the Skunk2's!!
Get the Koni Threaded coilover setup thats some good **** right there or if you want to go lower then go with Ground Controls and Koni Yellows...
Brakes, just as long as they work you dont need to upgrade them yet...
