Default What are the mechanical differences between GSR shocks and civic??

I know the differences between the shock bodies but what I want to know is this:

1. Is the piston/rod different size?
2. How much different is the valving between GSR and say a 99-00 Civic Si? Is it more performance oriented or less? (I am asking about Si so people don't say "they are valved different due to the lighter SOHC engine. I'm comparing apples to apples....)
3. Is the ride quality different?
4. Would this be a decent performance upgrade for a Civic that now has B series in it over stock?

I currently have aftermarket stuff on my car but I need to take it off. The car sits too low for the area I live. there are a lot of steep angles and the car will drag bumper a lot. That's why I want to use stock components. I'm putting Civic Si factory springs on the car and I have these Integra GSR struts that are pretty much new just sitting; that's why I am asking this question. My current suspension is TeinS springs and DZ struts. It's too low.

From my understanding its the spring rate/size that makes the difference. I think the shocks are the same. Dont quote me though.

i have quite the collection of stock shock/springs sitting around.

last year when we swapped a b16 into a friends 93 hatch(si) i let him take a pair of my front springs/shocks from an integra, springs had a lot of sag and honestly didn't feel too good.

so this doesn't help you at all, but to me it seemed the springs were a higher rate, and unless you're just looking for something to take up some time cause you have the parts laying around i say do it, but if youre buying the parts for some reason i wouldn't bother at all.

good day sir.

Springs are Civic Si with about 12,000 miles. Shocks are INtegra GSR with 48,000.

Well, update from my end. I put my Civic Si springs on and the GSR struts. Car is a little more firm than Civic shocks so I"m guessing they have a bit more agressive valving. Car still rides nearly like stock and it handles very well for what it is. I am very happy with the way it is.

Car is a 98 Civic 4 door with B18C swap; that's why I went with this combo. Ride height is good enough now that I can enter and leave most any driveway here without sweating anymore.
