what manual to buy?
can u guys give me some idea on what book to buy.... I've only done breaks, rotors, shocks, springs, and regular tune up.... never really done anything with the engine except helping my friend dropping in his ls vtec but too much screws i can't remember what screws go where... anyways i was wondering is there a book that teaches you taking the engine out and putting it together step by step... please dont mention haynes or chilten or chitlas or wateva its called those thing don't really help a lot but they do help though. thanks

can i get helms at a local pepboys or kragren or somthing. Perhaps at the dealer themselve? do the dealers sell helms manual?

No. You either have to order it from the dealer (which will be more expensive) or get it from the helms site online.

1996-2000 Civic Service Manual or is it this one the one i should buy.... sorry guys if im annoying but i just dont want to waste money on the wrong book

Its WAY more annoying for someone to post "What wire color am I looking for, What ECU pin am I looking for, What voltage should be here, Where is this component located, How do I replace this/that" - so no, you're far from annoying.
A friendly suggestion though - you'll need a multimeter in order to use the repair information you're about to buy (well, the electrical part, obviously) - so look into buying one of those too.
And yes, the 96-00 Civic Service Manual (its over 1000 pages) does indeed cover the Si - I own this manual.

it isnt a link to an online manual.
it a link to the helms site. click it.
someone linked to helmsinc.com, which is the wrong site.
it is http://www.helminc.com the link i put up was a copy and paste of the whole home page. i know about posting links to download pdf forms. this isnt it. it is helms's home page.

I was under the impression they meant the actual publisher's site since it reads:
