I remember that car in a thread with other pics of it. The lights are some kind of yellow HID. I can't remember the name, but I know the guy wanted to be different as far as the lights. I personally like the OEM HID on the 350

I'm running Sylvania SilverStar halogens (nice ) and those run at 4000K.
That is a very white bulb. Daylight is 5400K. With the yellow look of those, I'm going to say they're 3200-3500K.

If you look at my above post, you'll see that 12,000K is...uhh...retarded. That's more than double the color temp of daylight.

ummmm...do you mean 12,000kelvin (not kilowatt ) I thought they're like the LeMan's cars' HIDs I think the K was actually like 3500-3800 (close to the same color band as halogens) 12,000K(elvin) I thought was a rediculous blue/purple.

I remember seeing a post on this same car (maybe in the appearance forum - where this post REALLY belongs)- he has got aftermarket "YELLOW" hids (like LeMans cars) - they don't come stock, so don't call nissian & ask
see
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=646726 3100K HIDs
(sorry could find old post on the Z pictured)

Alright, before posting bullshit do some research.

A. The 350Z comes w/ optional Xenon bulbs
B. Xenon (n.): A colorless, odorless, highly unreactive gaseous element found in minute quantities in the atmosphere, extracted commercially from liquefied air and used in stroboscopic, bactericidal, and laser-pumping lamps. Atomic number 54; atomic weight 131.29; melting point -111.9°C; boiling point -107.1°C; density (gas) 5.887 grams per liter; specific gravity (liquid) 3.52 (-109°C).
C.In the case of HID headlights, the same high-pressure technology is used. The lamp is similar to a mercury vapor lamp. However, designers of the headlights had to solve one problem with normal mercury vapor lamps -- the fact that they have long start-up times. Xenon helps solve the start-up problem, as does a special controller. All of these tricks mean that these headlights are expensive now, but mass production should bring the cost down eventually.
D. Stock xenons come in between 4000-4500k. The brightest aftermarket xenon I have been able to find is 5800k.

With that being said, I'm going to say those are halogens.

12,000 kelvin would be pretty hot, kinda like the sun right?

Read the thread, read the thread, then read it again! It's not a temperature of hot v. cold. It's color temperature.

I'll post this again

then this

hey JRI94 - read this again - i saw a post on this Z in the appearance forum - they are yellow HIDs NOT halogens anyways I am requesting this be moved to appearance/cosmetic forum as it has NOTHING to do with ek/eg/del sols

another thing to repeat the are NOT 12,000k - they most likely are 3,100k aftermarket HIDs - fuggin people have got to start READING the thread BEFORE they post -

Quick Reply: what K are these HID's
