wow those are some educated guesses.........

it is to relieve the pressure as 99blackcivicsi has mentioned, some poeple connect them to catch cans or ive heard of poeple connecting them to 1 way valves put on the exhaust piping, so it kinda of sucks out the vapors/pressure

VW guys have been connecting them on their exhaust. they have been doing it for years. Supposedly they gained hp on the dyno.

BWAHAAHA overkill engine grounds (plural)! LOL. To the people who said they go to catch cans Exactly what fluid would be coming out of your valve cover? LOL. On another note is that a bootle of wine he's using as a hood prop?

most people take a line from there pcv to the catch can and one from the intake manifold to the catch can (vacuum) *shrug* With 2 lines from the valve cover, how is this going to suck anything?

i doubt a feed line, i sure wouldn't run it to my valve cover, maybe the return line, but i would rather use the oil pan.

ok.. so i did a little research,
pvc basicly helps keep the oil cleaner, so unburnt gases gets moved outside the engine element and into fresh air. Recuding presure, less oil toxicfacton. Gonna go check mine out, clean it out. Thanks for the clear up

:edit: sorry i cannot post agian cuase of trail status. But.. it seems like when your running an all motor/high comp build, or a setup that is in serious risk of detenation a catch can/pvc setup is well.. well wotth it.. i think i'll make one this weekend

DewMota Now keep reading "The OEM oil seperator box on a B18C1/5 and B16A may not be sufficient under some conditions. Also, some build ups like the LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC may not have an oil seperation setup at all without having to use a custom one. It is important to filter out the oil vapors from the crankcase from the PCV system because the added oil actually lowers your octane rating of the fuel therefore increasing the likelyhood of detonation." that is not a tru crank case breather, the moroso endyne kit is the real deal, plumbs into the block @ the 2 freeze plug by the crank, that "catch can" is just to let the valve cover breath a little,if you were to pay attention how the valve cover line would go into the intake system, this system just catches remains of oil that would be sucked into the intake, just some added bling bling, like putting a apc small filter on the valve cover...lol
