most clutches come w/ the pressure plate.
if your clutch dies, you can press the gas all day long..but your not going anywhere.

With a standard clutch change you would get all the parts needed. Any clutch that you do get will come with a new pressure plate. Also needed for a clutch change is a new pilot bearing and release bearing along with resurfacing the flywheel.

On a totally stock application, do you HAVE to resurface the flywheel? I can sorta imagine that its like doing a brake job....being that you should have those resurfaced at the time of the job (to prevent accelerated wear of the new brake pads from the grooves and ridges that are still on the old rotor, is my understanding).
But what happens if you don't....how much shorter is the service life reduced to, if any?

Not that taking off the transmission on a honda is hard, but it's not exactly fun, so if you're going to spend the time(or money to pay someone) to put a new clutch in, it's best to go ahead and do everything right the first time.

I didn't resurface the flywheel on my B16, because it was in great shape, it's up to you though.....you may not feel you are qualified to make that determination...
it's only an extra 15-20bucks, and half hour labor...so you might as well just do it.

Re: what happen if clutch is not change??? (EvilDragII)
just got my clutch in today. damn that sucker was messed up. about 1/4 of the disc broke off. didnt know where it went but it was gone. but now theres another problem when driving it with the new clutch it seems to make a sound kind of like "sssssssss" when driving it on 3rd gear and when switching gear sometimes. does anyone know what may cause that problem. it was the same proble that occurred when the old clutch was used, i thought it was just the clutch running out but it happend the same to this new clutch. i was wondering if anyone knew what that "sssssssss" or snake sound is and what causes that.
