What engine does a stock 94 Civic hatch dx come with?

What engine does a stock 94 Civic hatch dx come with?
im looking for a 92-95 civic hatch dx and ive been hearing different things about what a the stock engine is...i believe it to be a sohc vtec...but im not possitive...
if you guys could let me know that would help me out big time...
ive been talking to a guy about his hatch n he tells me that his 94 sohc doesnt have vtec...i definatley thought they did...he wasnt sure...he looked on the engine n it didnt say vtec....
also...are the cx n zx the only base models of hatchs? or is the dx too...thanx guys

well the cx has no power options and the worst motor you could buy (d15b8 non-vtec) it's DOG slow with 70hp, don't ask me how I know that.
