what does the Si stand for?
sorry im an integra guy and just answered a post on the integra forum where someone asked what does GSR stand for---
i got that one right but i cant find what does Si or Si-R stand for
i know that the R is for race/racing but Si????

Stands for search dammit.
EDIT: I realize the search will omit both of those, so it's sport injected and sport injected-racing or something similar to that.

well i did search and it came up as omitted the word Si because its too short -- so i searched civic vtec ( for the 99-00) ---YEAH right.....
i tried "what does stand for? leaving out the Si and still got lots of nothing--

I'm pretty sure there wasnt...the SI model line got started in the late 80s...after the carbs were being phased out.

i dont get it-- were there carburated civic Si back in the 70's, early 80's or were they just civic---
i thought one of the first civics i can rememebr was the CRX si

An SI is a trim line just like a DX or anything else. It started in 86 as stated above. Before that there were so SIs.
