What do you guys think of this?
Hello all. I wanted to try something out for the past couple weeks so this it what I did.
Parts that i had: Ebay rear strut bar, 2 Ebay c-pillar bars and 2 bolts that are about half an inch longer than the ones provided. The total cost was about 50.00. Here it is.
Well thats it. It costs about 1/4 of what similar kits cost and to me it feels damn sturdy. I rocked the crap out of it and it feels pretty solid. What do you guys think?? Will it function properly or do you think it is more of a cosmetic piece. I was thinking of painting it but I don't know. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks nice. However, is it me, or do the bars look a little bent in the pics? Just wondering. Looks great though.

honestly, I don't think it will work. Well it will, but not like a real one should, there should be one across the left to the right top too. Currently, it seems as if the forces of a hard right would only be helped while hard lefts are not due to the car being able to flex still since you don't have an X brace. Don't quote me as I am no engineer, but that is what it seems like to me.
But at the same time you do realize that for daily driving a car should be able to flex, otherwise it will not get proper ground contact sometimes, and is bad for the body. This is why basic bars are good, but when you get into more it becomes bad.
I had a site that explained all of it, but can't seem to find it, if I do, I will post it up!

I see what you are saying. I guess its a good thing that i don't drive it much, I have another civic for a dd. This is just a weekend car. It is possible for me to add another bar on the opposite side but I have seen several bars with similar designs that form a Z instead of an X. I want to finish building the suspension because at the moment all i have is lowering springs and strut tower bars and a lower H brace. I am working on a set of either buddyclub or tein coilovers and a progress rear sway bar. This thing will be stiff when i am all done. I didn't expect much of a gain from the rear bars, I just wanted to see if it would work.
