what do you guys do with your old motors????
hey guys, i know some of u have ex and si civics that came with d16z6's that you have swapped out. i was just wondering what u guys do with em, anyone got one laying around they want to get rid of?

sell it like no other, if you do blow the swap, why go through th e hassle of RE-RE-wiring the car to get it stock.

anything that can be sold is removed and sold.
unless the old motor is a d series vtec motor then you can get $ for it as a swap or longblock and tranny separately.
my old CX motor that was suffering from a bad headgasket... I am taking it apart and making an end table out of the shortblock.

People usually give them to me and then I jack the price up ten fold and sell em to people. hehe. Seriously though, keep it. I wrecked my 92 *cough*colt*cough* and kept it at my dads shop for a year, and then some guy came in wanting a used mirage engine. BAM! Popped that sucker in. $500 for the engine alone, and $600 labor to me (and I know Pops kept a little for himself).

sold them. I get several for free when i do motor swaps for people. I knock some of the price down for doing a swap if they donate a good runnign motor/tranny.

i have thrown several away, in our giant trash cans. Sold probably 3-4 of them. And theres about 6 in the garage right now. Yeah i do alot of swaps at my house.
